    Dr. Emma Wen

    Optometrist

    Dr. Emma Wen grew up in Calgary, Alberta and received her Bachelor of Science with a minor in sociology from McGill University. During her time in Montreal, Dr. Wen started exploring the art of stand-up comedy, which she still enjoys to this day. She attended Pacific University in beautiful Oregon for optometry school. During her last year of optometry school, Dr. Wen received six months of intensive training in ocular disease from experts at Bascom Palmer of Florida, the #1 eye hospital in the United States. There, she learned from the best in treating diseases of the retina, neuro-ophthalmology, and cornea. After graduating as an optometrist, Dr. Wen practiced for four years in Dawson Creek, BC, where she had the opportunity to treat and long-distance co-manage patients with a wide range of diseases in a remote setting with no ophthalmologists. She prides herself in giving thorough eye exams and ensuring all patient needs are addressed. Dr. Wen is excited to join the Eyedeology team and has special interest in advanced dry eye treatments, myopia control, specialty contact lenses and ocular disease.

    Dr Farrah Sunderji

    Optometrist

    Dr. Farrah Sunderji, OD is the past president of the Calgary Society of Optometrists (CSO). She is an active member of the Alberta College and Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. She is passionate about eyes and is committed to helping you protect your vision for life. Dr. Farrah graduated with Honors from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. She is part of the Beta Kappa Sigma: International Optometric Honors Society. She completed a residency in Pediatrics and Vision Therapy at the Southern California College of Optometry and received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta.

    Dr. Jessica Yang

    Optometrist

    Dr. Jessica Yang, OD is a proud Calgarian and completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Calgary. She then pursued her passion for optometry and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo. During her final year of training, Dr. Jessica completed an ocular disease externship at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where she worked with an incredible team of optometrists and specialists. This experience fostered her interest in ocular disease, and she gained valuable knowledge about the treatment and management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye disease and diabetic retinopathy.

    Dr. Margaret Penny

    Optometrist

    Dr. Penny has been in private practice in Calgary for nearly 40 years. She strives to provide excellence in diagnostic vision care, with an emphasis on the individual’s personal needs. She believes that quality vision care enhances a person’s quality of life. With both a degree in Optometry, and a Masters Degree in Educational psychology, she has a special interest and passion in working with children and adults who have visually related learning difficulties, tracking, focusing and binocular dysfunctions, and perceptual delays. Vision therapy and rehabilitation of these problems has been an integral part of her practice and career. Her experience and passion spread throughout the clinic and many of the team members at Eyedeology & Mayfair Eye Care share this same desire for enhancing people’s lives through excellent vision care.

    Pia

    Vision Therapist

    Vision Therapist Pia, an accredited Vision Therapist through the Canadian Optometrists in Vision Therapy (PVT) Program, to our team. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. With over a decade of experience in vision therapy, Pia has been a dedicated professional since 2010, consistently advancing her expertise through Vision Therapy Canada and the Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEP). Pia will be working closely with our Optometrists to design customized, personalized vision therapy plans tailored to each patient’s needs. Her extensive experience spans working with clients of all ages dealing with binocular vision dysfunction, strabismus, amblyopia, learning-related visual challenges, and traumatic brain injury (TBI) and concussion-related vision issues.
