If you are interested in or have questions about surgical vision correction, call our office for a comprehensive eye exam and consultation. We will be happy to discuss whether you are a good candidate for refractive surgery, and recommend a procedure for you. Yes, Lasik is a permanent vision correction solution that reshapes the front surface of the eye called the cornea. A touch-up may be required in the future if your eye prescription returns.

Who is eligible for LASIK eye surgery?

Lasik eye surgery in Calgary has been approved for those 18 years and older. Our Calgary Optometrists recommend waiting until your eye prescription has stabilized prior to considering a laser vision consultation.

What the benefits of getting LASIK eye treatment from an Optometrist?

At your annual eye exam, our Calgary Optometrists will determine if you are a candidate for Lasik eye surgery. We will be happy to refer you for a LASIK consultation with a corneal surgeon and co-manage your care post-surgery.

Is LASIK eye treatment covered under my insurance?

As all vision and health insurance plans are different, it is best to contact your insurance provider to determine if your laser vision correction procedure is covered under your plan.

Is LASIK eye surgery painful?

Lasik eye surgery is relatively painless as numbing drops are put in the eye prior to the treatment. During recovery, some minor discomfort and soreness are to be expected as the eye heals.

Is LASIK eye surgery tax deductible?

Laser eye surgery is a tax-deductible medical expense. You can enter the amount on line 330 of your tax return. If you are claiming for a dependent, the amount goes on line 331.
